  • Civic Leader & National Speaker

Abderazak M. Ali is the founder of the Grapher Institute and the inventor of Identity Engineering, a structural discipline that studies how identity operates, evolves, and transforms. His work reframes identity not as who you are, but as the system you operate — a framework that is redefining human clarity, performance, and transformation.

A Somali American civic leader, author, and cultural thinker, Ali’s life journey—spanning refugee camps, global humanitarian work, and American political stages—embodies what he calls New American Energy: the disciplined rise of resilience, clarity, and human potential.

Born into hardship and shaped by possibility, he has lived and worked across the United States—from Alaska to California, New York to Nebraska, Kentucky to Minnesota—while remaining deeply rooted in the Horn of Africa, the Middle East, and the global immigrant experience. Fluent in Somali, Arabic, Amharic, and English, he serves as a bridge between cultures, communities, and generations.

Humanitarian Leadership on the World Stage

Ali’s leadership began in Tunisia as a Community Mobilizer with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), where he emerged as a unifying figure for a refugee population representing more than 30 nationalities. He coordinated conflict resolution, cultural development, and community protection in one of North Africa’s most complex humanitarian environments.

His insights reached senior officials at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), including António Guterres, now UN Secretary-General. He also shared his lived experience with Angelina Jolie, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, contributing to global conversations on displacement, dignity, and protection.

After arriving in the United States, he continued this work with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Boise, Idaho, helping refugee families rebuild their lives and navigate American systems.

National Civic Influence

Ali became nationally recognized through his reflective wisdom storytelling — a form of lived philosophy that reached millions across continents. His narratives, shared by ministers, civic leaders, and global audiences, established him as one of the most influential Somali American communicators of his generation.

In 2025, he entered the Hopkins, Minnesota mayoral race without political machinery — only clarity, integrity, and community trust. His campaign drew statewide attention and introduced a new independent force into Minnesota civic life.

He later spoke alongside national leaders — including former Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Tim Scott — at the First-in-the-Nation Leadership Summit in New Hampshire, one of America’s most influential political gatherings.

A National Footprint

Across the country, Ali has contributed to civic and cultural life through bridge-building and leadership:

— Guided the New Hampshire GOP Chairman inside a mosque for historic cross-cultural dialogue

— Raised funds for a winning mayoral campaign and served on its transition team

— Hosted World Refugee Day in Boise, Idaho

— Led youth empowerment programs in Louisville, Kentucky

— Supported more than 400 multilingual workers in Nebraska

— Recognized by Ramsey County for East African community outreach

— Invited to the Attorney General’s Office for youth empowerment initiatives

— Competed among 900 applicants for Manhattan community leadership roles

Wherever he goes, Ali brings dignity to political spaces, peace to divided spaces, and transformation to stagnant spaces.
